One thing that did surprise me about this occasion is how much people are actually wanting to celebrate it themselves, not just by watching it. Have heard lately about lots of people organising parties, and getting together in local pubs, and some even trying to organise street parties.
It also surprised me to hear how the local council have been asking, if people are wanting to do street parties, so that they can help to organise the roads and parking.
To wrap this up, I just felt how awesome it is that, to the majority of people, tomorrow isn't just a day off of school, or off of work, but is actually an event that will change our little country's future. Is also amazing to see that soo many people want to make something of tomorrow and be part of the day so that, in some many years time, they'd be able to look back and say I remember that day.
Hopefully tomorrow will show that even throughout all the talk of recessions, conflicts overseas, problems in our country, that everyone for that day will get along, and enjoy this happy break from normal day to day life. Even though I will be working, I'm already planning on sneaking in a small radio, so I can also be part of the day. Have a great time tomorrow, and congradulations!
