Come 16.15 on Wednesday just gone, I officially finished my first set of exams for university. Weirdly because my exams finished so early and because I don't start back at university til the beginning of February, I actually have no work to do for several weeks. This means for about the first time ever during my time in education, I have absolutely no work to do during 'school' time. No excuses, or avoiding work, we don't get told what our next assignments are until we get back, so there is no work, and no way of preparing for work.
With all of that being said, I thought I'd perhaps have at least a week or so off, to properly relax and chill out, to maybe meet up with some friends etc... However that won't be the case.
For a while now my mum has thought for many reasons about wanting to sell our house in Scarborough and move back down south nearer to my elder sister and other relatives of ours. In order to be able to sell the house though, it needs to be in a state in which people would want to buy it, but to do that a lot of work needs to be done to the house both in repairs and in cleaning the rooms. Luckily, for my mum at least, I now have all this 'spare' time in which I can do a load of jobs, whilst everyone else is out.
I don't mind doing some of these jobs, a bit of painting, cleaning up my room properly, even perhaps a bit of D.I.Y, it's just that I got it in my head that I would be able to have some time off, but instead I got a long list of jobs to do.
Most of today has been spent up in my room going through everything in there. I didn't know just how much of a hoarder I am. The amount of times I kept getting distracted by old school work or long lost toys, meant that the clearing out took quite a lot longer then it should have had. No matter though, managed to get the majority of it done, and also found a load of things I haven't seen in years, which is always a nice surprise.
By not finishing my room today though just means that that is what I'll be spending my time tomorrow doing. Oh well, hopefully if I get everything done early then there'll be time left before going back to uni to have a rest. And leave me more time to blog. Really want to get more blogging done.
