To change or not to change?

This time ten years ago I'd barely ever heard about the new fangled pieces of technology that were mobile phones, I'd had no use for one, I didn't need one and even if I did I wouldn't have been able to afford one. Today though they're as common as anything, with new models coming out every couple of months, with new updated tech, software and designs.

For months now I've been going back and forth trying to decide whether or not I should take the plunge again and get myself a new mobile phone. I've had my current phone, which is a Blackberry Curve for over two and a half years now, meaning that the contract I had on it is all paid off, most importantly however this time has allowed me to get the most out of it, to get a good amount of usage from it.

Currently my phone is still working perfectly like the day I got it, it has some scratches and stuff, but I've had it for over two years, what would you expect. The reason then that I'm stuck in this dilemma about whether to go buy a new phone is mainly the falling behind the times aspect of mobile phones. Since getting my Blackberry, several new Iphones have come out, several Samsung phones, other newer Blackberry's, the list goes on. Now I'm not one of those people that wants every new thing that comes out, or that chases fad's or whats popular, I just think that enough time has past that I should think about maybe catching up.

Why I'm having this dilemma is because my phone does still work, I'm comfortable with it, I know how to use it and where everything is. If its not broken and theres nothing wrong is there any real reason to change it. Plus there are so many different types of phones out there now, I wouldn't know where to start in choosing a replacement. If you couldn't tell already I'm kind of indecisive with decisions like this, can you imagine if I finally made up my mind to get a new phone, how long it would take before I actually finally settled on just one specific one out of the numerous amounts out there.

I guess I've just answered my own question it seems, I'm not going to say goodbye to my trusty Blackberry just yet. It's served me well these last few years and does everything that I need to it do, so theres no real reason to change, plus I'll save myself the immense hassle of sifting through all of the latest phones trying to pick out a new one. I know this is only a temporary solution as there will inevitably come a time when I face this dilemma again, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
