My second blog

Last week towards the end of my last blog I began to talk about a second blog that I have set up. This week I thought I'd finally expand on this and talk about why I now have this second blog, the purpose of it, and how that blog will affect what goes on here.

Back in early January, I set up this new blog titled 'The Culture Repository'. The purpose of this blog is to give me a dedicated place where I can upload more formal posts, talking about films, books, games, and perhaps other cultural interests.

There were two reasons that lead me towards creating this second blog. Firstly I wanted to write more reviews and articles surrounding these subjects, and having a separate blog keeps things more organised and pushes me to write more. Secondly, this blog can hopefully act as somewhat of a portfolio, a place that shows off examples of what I can write. Its partly due to this second reason that I haven't yet mentioned this blog before, because I wanted to experiment a bit, get a few articles uploaded and just see how the first few weeks went.

So far everything seems to be going well, I've had several views and gained a couple of followers, and more importantly I've found other people writing articles on similar topics. As with this blog I intend to upload at least one blog a week, if not more, but as I said they should hopefully be written in a more formal/journalistic way, as examples of my writing and a way to practice further.

With regards to how The Repository will affect this blog, the short answer really is it won't. There will still be a blog a week here, they will still be about any and all random things, written in my informal, stream of consciousness type writing. The only difference will be that there won't be any more reviews or such posts on here anymore but instead posted to The Repository. This isn't that big of an impact though as I haven't uploaded one of those in quite a while.

If anyone does want to go check out this second site, you can find it over at: www.culturerepository.wordpress.com.
Any suggestions for improvements or feedback on the articles is always welcome so please feel free to leave a comment.

Who knew when I started this blog however many years ago, that I'd take such a liking to blogging and writing.
