Half Term, The Royal Jubilee and E3

This week for all of the younger students in primary/secondary school and collage it has been half term. What a packed week this week seems to have been.

At the beginning of this week, you could see a large number of bunting and flags appearing in peoples gardens and on their cars, and the town got extremely busy, all in preparation for the Royal Jubilee Celebrations.
With the Jubilee being on the tuesday, not a great deal in terms of parties and celebrations happened over the weekend where I live, mainly just people shopping in order to prepare. Although there were events occurring in London over the weekend, I didn't happen to see much due to being busy, being out and about in the sun.

Once tuesday came around you could definitely feel a sense of 'pride/patriotism' in the air. Living in quite a big countryside area, there were lots of different things going on, with every village having some kind party, BBQ, or fair. In scarborough, being a town rather then small village, many streets instead decided to put on their own street parties.

Overall the celebrations everywhere did look really good, and people seemed to enjoy a few days off to have fun and spend some time out in the nice sunny weather with friends.

The second half of this week turned out to be the complete opposite of the beginning. As soon as wednesday hit, the weather turned from warm and sunny with the Jubilee celebrations, to chilly thunder storms with the happenings at E3.

Now for anyone who doesn't know what E3 is, it's an annual gaming convention where the big names in the gaming industry reveal new consoles and show off their latest games. Ever since I discovered E3 I thought it would be absolutely amazing to be able to go. The main problem with this however being that it's held over in america, so it'd be quite a big and expensive trek just for the few days its on.

I won't go into too much about what happened this year at E3, but I will say there were a number of games talked about that I cannot wait to get my hands on and play, a few being Assassin Creed 3, Star Wars 1313 and Black Ops 2. For any gamers out there who haven't yet heard of E3, check it out, it's definitely the place to be for all the new major gaming news.
