Today, as the title states, I came down to London for the day in order to meet up with my family and to go to the Winter Wonderland which is being held in Hyde Park.
As well as my mum, brother and sisters all being there today, an old friend of my mums who lives out in Germany, was also there as she flew in last night to stay with my mum and sister for a few days.
With my brother and older sister living away from home, and me being at university, its not very often now a days that we're all in the same place at one time. With Maxine, my mums friend, being with us too it was a really nice chance to chat and catch up, which we all together haven't really done in a while.
On the subject of catching up with people, yesterday afternoon I was also able to catch up with an old friend of mine, who even though lives in sheffield as well, we don't really get to see much of each other, and so was great to have a good catch up with her and hear about all the new things happening and going on. I'm also hoping that once everyone's back home for christmas I'll be able to see a few more people that I used to go to school with and get the chance to see and talk to and reminisce about old times with.
Back to the trip today, If you've ever read any of my other blogs concerning London, you'll know that I love coming down here and walking round, going on the tube and just being part of the hustle and bustle of everything. I still don't quite know what it is about London that draws me to it, however thinking that this time next year I could actually be living and studying in London, is an awesome thought.
The only problem we had today was with our judging of time and how long we'd be spent doing things. As a result of this we ended up back in Kings Cross a few hours early of when our trains were, with little to do. Due to it being so cold this weekend we seemed to get through looking at all of the Winter Wonderland stalls and events quicker than we'd anticipated, in an attempt to get somewhere warmer. This spare time however meant that we had plenty of time to go sit down and grab a drink and chat about stuff going on, so it wasn't all that bad.
Anyways, seeming as I've now got a few hours to kill on my train ride home and I've bought some more new books today, I think I'll get on with some more reading.
