Dr Who - Deep Breath

Today I spent another full day down in London, meeting up with some more awesome Nerdfighters, enjoying the last remnants of the summer, before the rain and snow engulf the country.

After the meet up, a group of us headed off to another part of London, to go and see the first episode in the newest series of Dr Who live in a cinema. As much as I was worried about the future of Dr Who after it was announced that Matt Smith was leaving, I am now really happy and almost 100% sure that things are going to be fine.

The first episode was an extended episode unlike most of the previous episode we've seen, and we all came out of it thinking that it was far better then we could have imagined. It was really funny, slightly dark, with some twists and some new/old baddies causing the usual chaos and mayhem. Basically it was a really good episode.

I don't just yet want to say wholeheartedly that I am confident about the future of Dr Who, however I am reassured and am really looking forward to see the direction they go in.

The cinema experience was finished off nicely with some behind the scenes extra footage about how the episode was made and Peter Capaldi's first few days as the Doctor. We were also treated to the live Q&A going on at Leicester square Odeon, as they streamed it into the cinema. That to say was also brilliant to watch and rounded off the evening very nicely.

Today has been a good day, and my hope in the Dr Who series and been for the most part restored. I now cannot wait to see next weeks episode!
