A Big Dilemma

The phrase 'I was waiting for a bus for ages, and then two turned up at once' seems like a very adequate way to sum up my week this week.

Spending Monday searching for and applying to various jobs, I decided to apply for several internships, as well as the normal jobs, and within a few days I had two interviews. This is however where the dilemma occurred.

The first internship was for a games company who make educational games for museums, offering a full time position, without pay but they'd cover my travel expenses. The second internship was for a software company who make business related software, however their internship was paid and also covered travel expenses.

Internship one would be right up my street as its a games company making games in the field I spent three years studying at university; history, however it doesn't pay. Internship two is vaguely relevant, a lot more formal businessy but it pays.

That is the dilemma then, spend several months in a position that I'd really enjoy and is similar to what I hope to do down the line, or spend several months longer in a position that isn't really my field of expertise but pays for the work I do??

Obviously I'm currently more swayed towards the games company as the experience I feel would be more useful and relevant and it'd be more enjoyable to do, however there is still a part of me that thinks money is important, especially as the Christmas holidays are soon upon us and perhaps I should be paid for the work I'd do.

If only one of these places got back to me, this decision would be so much easier.
