Update! Sisters birthday, and Going Book crazy.

This week has been quite a hectic week so far at home, being the first week of the easter holidays. As well as it being busy because its the easter holiday, it was also my little sisters birthday yesterday, plus the warm weather at the beginning of the week meant its been even busier.

Due to it being my sisters birthday, she had organised a sleep over at the beginning of the week for her and about 8 of her friends. This inevitably meant that this group of 12/13 year old girls, although confined to certain rooms, were very loud, ate and drank everything in the kitchen and practically wrecked the rooms they were allowed in. In order to avoid this chaos though, my mother, brother and me, found ourselves hidden away in a room upstairs until, the girls eventually calmed down, and we felt it safe to leave.

These birthday celebrations continued on till yesterday when my older sister arrived back home and we had a family birthday party/celebration. I'm not quite sure why, but yesterday amidst all the old-school party games, and paper plates, and sweets, things actually felt quite normal again, with regards to family occasion's.
Since the events of a year and a half ago, and everything that's happened since, occasions such as birthdays, where we've all gathered together have had moments where this taboo subject has arisen or has somehow had a presence on that day, but it didn't feel that way yesterday. Whether its part of the whole selling the house, moving away, getting on with things attitude, or something else, I actually enjoyed not having that bad presence hanging around for once.

I won't go too much into these feelings I had about yesterday, however I will just say that everyone, especially my younger sister, seemed to have a great day and really enjoyed themselves.

The second part of today's blog is an update on my new found love of reading. Up until now all of my new books have primarily been acquired through Waterstones, meaning that due to being a little bit expensive, I've been limiting myself on the number of books I could buy. So far this has been a good tactic as it meant that I could generally read quick enough to keep up with the list of new books being bought. However over the last few days I couldn't help but pop into some of the book clearance shops that have opened recently in Scarborough, and this has started to cause a bit of a problem.

Usually when I go into these small shops there's not many books that I'm keen on reading, however that wasn't the case with these new shops. Because of this my list of new books has grown even longer, and has also begun to gain duplicates of books I already own. As I've said in a few of my previous blogs, I've got and have been reading the Hunger Games book series, and when I was in one of these shops the other day I spotted these books but instead of having the newer modern book covers, which are the ones I have, they had the original covers.
Although the only difference between the books I own and the ones I bought was the different covers on them, I'm now at the stage, where to me this makes enough difference, and because I really like the look and style of the original covers, it's worth buying that set too. I will quickly mention just so I don't sound too weird, that this second set was a lot cheaper then usual, and so I didn't pay out the original expensive price just for different covers.

I'm still not sure whether discovering these cheap but decent book stores are a good or bad thing, I'm sure that my bank balance over the next few months will decide that for me though.
