You'll probably know by now, if you've read many of my previous blogs, that I'm very into gaming, more specifically PC gaming.
When I was younger I used to play alot of games on our home family computer, from games like the old Tomb Raiders, to Star Wars Republic Commander, to other less known games. All of my younger PC gaming was done on our family computer that we had for quite a few years, and ended up having to be thrown away due to components being too old or just failing and stopped working.
Since this period of gaming, which probably ended around about my GCSE years, I haven't really had the opportunity to play as many games as I used to, and this is all down to one thing, computer specs. Since the time of our family computer, the only computer I've had full time use of is my laptop, which was quite new tech when I first bought it but nothing compared to the specs of any desktop PC. Due to this there was a limit on what types of games I could play, without the game lagging, or the graphics freezing up my computer. All of this has now changed though.
Looking at the title of this blog I'm sure your wondering what actually are these early birthday presents I have bought for myself, well I finally decided to take the plunge and by myself some new tech. Over the last week or so I've roamed the internet and on a budget bought myself a new PC, a gaming receiver so that I can use my xbox controller on my PC, a 2Tb hard drive, and an external wireless adapter, so that I can get internet upstairs. Although the specs of this computer aren't again the best out there, they allow me to run games that I've already bought and that I've been wanting to play for a long time.
This has been something I've wanted to do for a long time now, and have on many occasions come close to doing it. Gaming is something that I love to do, even if I'm not always great at it, and although I had to pay out this amount of money it gives me access to keep doing it. I don't want to get too deep with this blog but I do just want to say quickly, that I've learnt over the last few years that things you like to do shouldn't come second to anything, even if money is tight or its hard to do, theres always a way round it.
I guess if I'm being honest these new things aren't really early presents to myself, that's just kind of an excuse, but I did really want to buy them and that should be reason enough.
