Welcome to 2014! Hopefully everyone has had a good holiday and a great new year. Didn't last year go passed really quick?!
Being a few days into the new year I guess it's that time again that I start to think about new years resolutions and what goals I want to achieve come this time next year.
Saying this however I am one of those people who doesn't really get new years resolutions.
I get that it being a new year and a clean start, it is a good time to start all these new things. However I have heard people use this somewhat as an excise. They'd say in about October that as it's towards the end of the year they'll wait till the new year to start; exercising or what have you.
If there's two or three weeks before the new year, then I get waiting a bit, but any other time, should it not matter what time of the year it is? If you actually want to make a change in your life or start something new, then you should just start straight away.
I'll admit that there have been a number of times that I've started something and ended up failing, but I at least just started.
Goals for the year however, I feel are actually quite important. By having these goals, it just gives you something to strive towards and keep you on track throughout the year. By setting these aims, they can also lead you to discover that they aren't really what you want to do, or can show you other ways to do them.
At the moment I only have a few goals for the year, I won't go into them but here is my list so far:
1) Graduate from University,
2) Find a decent full-time job (either pays alright or one I enjoy doing),
3) Have some savings put away, for future things like a car, house deposit, etc...
4) Continue to sort out my anxiety,
5) Visit more places,
And lastly 6) Try to go out of my way to do more things I haven't done before.
We'll see how well all of these things have gone next year, hopefully I'll be able to confidently tick most of them off.
What kind of goals or resolutions has everyone else thought of for this year?
P.S there is a event film that has been released called 'About Time' and i just wanted to say that it is a brilliant film. If you can go watch it!
