When it comes to this time of year, i'm not exactly the biggest most festive person within my family. I do really enjoy that the weather has gotten colder, that it could potentially snow again, and that people actually, even if just for a short time, get some time off.
When it comes to Christmas 'jolliness' however I usually fall a bit short. Being the kind of person I am, i often find this time of year kind of chaotic. I always try keep track of money and so find present buying stressful, plus not knowing what to get people adds to that chaos. I always find Christmas day goes quite quickly, and people put a lot of emphasise on the one main day itself, etc...
I wouldn't go as far as to call myself a Grinch, its just that I rather enjoy the build up to Christmas, the month before the big day. The month where the nights are really short, there sightings of snow, where your starting to make Christmas lists and look forward to having to proper relaxing time off.
I guess i'm not entirely Christmas festive rather then winter festive. I prefer this season and what it brings rather than the significant day within it, hopefully that makes sense.
I did have quite a nice Christmas day this year, it being our first Christmas day in our new house. We had some relatives down for Christmas day itself and a few coming today to stay around for new years. Its a shame that its almost over again for another year, but I guess if it was everyday it wouldn't be so special.
I do intend to get at least another one of my favourite lists out, perhaps next week, once I get some time. I'm finding that they are actually quite a nice tradition. Along with this and because its new years soon, I am hoping that I will get my act together some what and either start a new blog soon, or add a new section on to this, as I've been planning to do for a while. I haven't worked everything out yet so that's all I'll say for now.
Hopefully everyone has had a great Christmas so far and will have a happy new year. For anyone who is already back at work, i'm sorry, fingers crossed for a few snow days soon to come.
