Yesterday evening officially marked the beginning of my family's summer holiday week off. Instead of going camping again like last year we have decided to stay around home and have instead come up with a load of ideas for things to do this week.
The one main idea that we all came up with and have spent quite a lot of time figuring out and preparing for is a sort of race/scavenger hunt that will take place in London.
With there being six of us, we have split up into three teams of two people, and our mission will be to travel around London to visit and photo a set of predesignated roads/buildings/landmarks beginning with one of the letters of the alphabet; A-Abbey Road, B-BBC Headquarters, etc...
To make things more interesting we have set a time limit to visit all of the locations and a finish point where we all need to meet. Furthermore we have given each location a point score, the higher points going to the furthest locations, then once we have all finished we will add up all of our points to see who won.
We did spend a very long time coming up with the points and the rules and it does go into a bit more detail but for sake of explaining it that's the basic jist of things.
We also came up with a number of tasks that have to be accomplished throughout the day, such as to take a photo with a stranger, just to make things even harder.
Due to the complexity of this scavenger hunt, the time it will take to complete and the distance we will be travelling, we have all spent time coming up with routes and back up alternate routes to get us around in the quickest way possible and in case certain tube lines are closed.
I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a long day with a lot of walking and travelling involved, but wish me and my brother luck for our team to win. This should be a great start to our holiday week.
